Reinventing mobile messaging! Do you know anyone without a mobile phone? Neither do we. That's why back in 2008, the six founders of Sinch set out to reinvent mobile messaging. They realized that SMS presented an incredible opportunity for companies due to its immediate and widespread reach - but it needed a change. THE ESSENCE OF THE ROLE

As Sinch Denmarks new system System & Network Administrator your main purpose will be to maintain and develop their IT infrastructure, including a virtualized Linux environment with approximate 400 servers. Their network consists of among other things BGP routers, firewalls, switches and HAproxy loadbalancers.                  

As a System & Network Administrator you will be handling the following tasks in collaboration with our other administrators:

- Manage and maintain Sinch Denmarks servers, which are hosted at an external hosting center in a private cloud                       

- Manage and maintain the VMware environment                    

- Together with the engineering team, build new systems and maintain current systems with focus on performance, robustness and security.

- Help ensuring services are monitored effectively and resources are continuously managed.                                               

- Participating in various projects in relation to ISO 27001 certification

- Upon adequate training there is possibility of joining the 24/7 on-call service, which is paid separately.

The Operations team operates systems 24/7. Systems that are subject to SLA with high demands regarding availability and performance. The role will be based at Sinch offices in Copenhagen and reports to Director Network & Infrastructure.                 

WHO ARE YOU?

In order to be successful in this role, you are a technical expert, and have good communication skills. You have a structured and methodical approach to work, and you understand the benefits of documentation, planning and organization. You have the ability to work independently and take initiatives, but also understands the importance of team work and team responsibility. Since the IT world is rapidly changing, you can adapt to new technologies when needed.

Some examples of desired skills and experience:

- Strong skills in administrating Linux servers in a hosted environment. Linux System Administration experience 3 years or more.

- Strong skills in building, operating and administrating network.
Cisco Experience 3 years of more
Switching (spanning tree, etherchannel, 802.1q VLAN
Routing(BGP,OSPF,EIGRP)
Packet capture and analysis
IP layer access control
IOS and ASA based IPSEC VPNs

- Experience with running applications in a java environment

- Familiar with managing hundreds of Virtual Machines

- Change Management and ITIL Framework understanding and experience.

- Good understanding of network security and use of vpn, ssl.

- Fluent in English and preferably Danish as well
