European IT Director

Do you want to lead an international digital transformation and shape a modern IT organisation within a fast-growing European group? We are seeking a European IT Director to take end-to-end responsibility for the group’s IT landscape and drive a major modernisation across multiple countries.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Our client is a leading European provider of security solutions, with more than 3,000 employees across several countries. Rapid growth through multiple acquisitions has created a strong market position — but also an IT environment with varying digital maturity and fragmented legacy systems.

The organisation is now strengthening its IT delivery capabilities to support a clear direction for digitalisation, data governance, security and scalable ways of working.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As European IT Director, you will drive and execute the group’s IT strategy and ensure that technology initiatives support business objectives and long-term development. You work closely with the Group Leadership Team, providing strategic insights, investment recommendations and operational follow-up.

You will lead the evaluation and implementation of key group platforms and core applications, strengthen data governance and information security, and enhance integration, operational stability and delivery capability. The role requires both strategic leadership and hands-on involvement in an evolving environment shaped by acquisitions and varied IT landscapes.

You will lead a European IT organisation and collaborate closely with country IT teams and external partners. The environment is dynamic, with short decision paths and high expectations on structure, collaboration and execution.

Key responsibilities: 

    Drive and further develop the European IT strategy in alignment with Group objectives

    Lead the evaluation and implementation of key group platforms and core applications

    Strengthen data governance, security and technical standards across the organisation

    Improve stability, efficiency and scalability across IT infrastructure, operations and services

    Enhance integration capabilities and modernise fragmented legacy environments

    Build and develop a resilient IT organisation with the right skills and delivery capacity

    Foster strong collaboration between Group and Country IT teams and business stakeholders

    Provide strategic insight, reporting and recommendations to the Group Leadership

YOUR PROFILE

You are an experienced IT leader with a strategic mindset and a hands on approach in managing technical and operational reality, and you are effective in complex, international settings.

You bring:

    Extensive experience from senior IT leadership roles

    A proven track record of driving change and delivering results in multifaceted environments

    Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and manage competing initiatives

    A solid understanding of architecture, applications and infrastructure

    Experience with data and integration platforms, and with digital transformation work

    Strong communication skills in Swedish and/or Norwegian and English

    A collaborative, pragmatic and hands-on approach, combined with resilience and adaptability
